Tax Residency Certificate TRC, also known as Tax Domicile Certificate, allows you to take advantage of double taxation avoidance agreements signed by the UAE. A certificate granted to qualifying natural and legal persons allowing them to benefit from UAE-signed Double Tax Avoidance Agreements (DTAA) on income.
The UAE Ministry of Finance issues Tax Residency Certificates, also known as Tax Domicile Certificates, to individuals who have a UAE residency visa and have been living in the country permanently for at least 180 days, or to companies that have been operating within the country for at least a year.
This official certificate is valid for a year from the date of issuance and is utilized to fully take advantage of the numerous double tax treaties and double taxation avoidance agreements made by the UAE with over 120+ countries worldwide.

TRC for Treaty Purpose
The Applicant is a Natural Person.
- Passport
- Valid residence permit.
- Emirates ID.
(The EID must match the name on the card for verification).
- A certified copy of the home leasing agreement.
- Certificate indicating source of income or pay
- A bank statement issued by a local bank covering six months within the fiscal year relevant to the request.
- Entry and departure reports from the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship or a local competent government organisation.
- Proof of Permanent Place of Residence:
- A certified lease agreement or electrical bill in the applicant's name.
- Title document for private property.
The Applicant is a Legal Person.
- Trade license
- Memorandum of Association.
- Proof of authorization (from the Memorandum of Association or Power of Attorney).
- A copy of an audited financial report certified by an independent auditor, stamped and signed by the auditing firm (the financial audit report must cover the same specified start date of the fiscal year in the application or the previous year).
- A certified lease agreement or tenancy contract for the office.
- A bank statement from a local bank covering 6 months of the requested financial year.
Applicant is a Legal Person (Government Entity)
- A copy of the decree, governmental decision, or trade license.
- A request letter issued by the individual (the government body).
TRC for Domestic Purpose
Applicant is a Natural Person who has spent more than 183 days in the UAE.
- Passport (required) and Emirates ID / UAE Visa residency, if applicable.
- Entry and departure reports from the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship or a local competent government organisation.
The Applicant is a Natural Person who has spent fewer than 183 days in the UAE and equals or exceeds 90 days.
- Passport (required) and Emirates ID/UAE Visa residency, if applicable.
- Entry and departure reports from the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship or a local competent government organisation.
- Proof of income, salary certificate, or other proof of conducting business in the UAE. Alternatively, proof of permanent residency may include a title deed, EJARI, utility bills, or another long-term rental contract.
Applicant is a Natural Person who has spent less than 90 days in the UAE or in the following situations:
- Passport (required) and Emirates ID / UAE Visa residency, if applicable.
- Entry and departure reports from the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship.
- Proof of Financial and Personal Interests (The location of the natural person's occupation, familial and social relationships, cultural or other activities, place of business, location from which the natural person's property is administered, and any other relevant facts and circumstances should be considered in determining whether a natural person's centre of financial and personal interests is in the State).
- Evidence of permanent residency (title deed, EJARI, utility bills, or other long-term rental contract).
